Nimclip for MAC

Free, open-source clipboard history manager for Mac that keeps text, links, code and images locally, with search, tags, OCR and quick paste.

Nimclip Overview

Nimclip is a clipboard history manager that lives in the macOS menu bar. The Mac clipboard keeps only the last thing you copied; Nimclip remembers what came before, so you can press Command-Shift-V, find an earlier item and paste it again. It records text, links, code, images and rich text, keeps the name and icon of the app each item came from, and lets you filter the history by text, links, code or images.

Nimclip is local-first: the history is stored on your Mac, no account is needed and clipboard contents are never uploaded. New images are indexed with the macOS Vision text recognition, so you can find a picture by the words in it. You can mark favorites, sort items with colored tags, merge several text items into one paste and paste rich text as plain text. The app is released under the Apache 2.0 license by hukdoesn and needs macOS 15 or later, with separate downloads for Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. Version 1.1.9 adds multi-select delete. Nimclip is not signed with an Apple Developer ID, so macOS may block the first launch; the developer explains how to allow it in Privacy and Security. Direct paste needs Accessibility permission; without it, Nimclip copies the item so you can paste it yourself.

Key Features

Nimclip keeps your clipboard history a shortcut away.

  • Full history: Records text, links, code, images and rich text with the source app.
  • Filters: Show all items, or only text, links, code or images.
  • Search: Finds text, words recognized in images, app names and tags.
  • Image text recognition: Indexes new images on your Mac with macOS Vision.
  • Favorites and tags: Pin important items and sort them with colored tags.
  • Merge and paste: Combine several text items in the order you pick.
  • Plain text option: Copy or paste rich text without formatting.
  • Your rules: Set the shortcut, history limit and retention time, or pause recording.

What’s New in Version 1.1.9

Nimclip 1.1.9 adds multi-select delete.

  • Select several text, image and favorite items, or select all current search and filter results, and confirm before deleting.
  • A batch delete saves the changes at once and removes the matching image files.
  • Selections are cleared when you change the filter or close the panel.
  • Smaller, lighter selection circles, and a click anywhere on the row still selects it.
